There are certain truths to business no matter where you are.
Making connections, building relationships and earning trust are crucial for developing successful long-term ventures.
All of those qualities are evident when sitting down with Frank Bonanni, Senior Business Relationship Manager at Coastal Community Credit Union, and Stephen J. Ison, Principal at Liquid Capital West Coast Financing Corp.
Outside of Chamber mixers and mingles, the men don’t normally socialize. But they have done business together and have, over time, developed a rapport that could be mistaken for life-long friends.
“I trust Steve and I know he’s going to do a good job,” Bonanni says. “That’s key, having trust in who you’re going to give business to.”
Ison says his business depends on earning a reputation as someone who is dependable and reliable.
“Our business depends on relationships. You become ‘the guy’ who does ‘that thing,’” he says. “If someone has met you at a mixer and shaken your hand, they know they’re not doing a deal with the devil.”
