Inspiring a new generation of leaders

Want to know what makes Victoria so vibrant?
Part of it is being in a constant state of rebirth. Spring and fall dominate our seasons. Progressive ideas blossom out of strong traditions. And new entrepreneurs are constantly proving themselves in business, energizing our economy and inspiring established leaders to keep innovating.
One sure place to find the next generation of leaders is at the Chamber’s Prodigy Group. A network of emerging and established professionals, Prodigy members have access to a mentorship program and pleasantly social mingles that make it easy for young entrepreneurs to create genuine connections.
“It actually allows me to have two hours to socialize, have a drink and be an adult – and it counts as work,” says Jared Webb, a former chair of the Prodigy Group and a young father who values work-life balance and the commitment needed to succeed as a financial planner for Fernhill Financial. “We’re not naïve. Making connections to help your business is why everyone is here.”
From his involvement, Webb got to know Brianna Green while she was the Marketing Director for Seriously Creative. Green is now Marketing Specialist with the Wilson's Group, and Vice-Chair of the Prodigy Group.
“I always leave (Prodigy Group meetings) feeling motivated. I think it’s because I’m surrounded by likeminded people and everybody is there to support each other,” she says. “It’s about building those connections. You need to have a network, especially in Victoria.”
The connection led to Webb hiring Green to help with his firm’s marketing, and to Green hiring Webb to help plan her finances. Win win.
