For more than a century, Seaspan has been committed to the delivery of first-class marine solutions to our customers. As a leader in Canada’s shipbuilding and ship repair industry, we have built, repaired and maintained vessels for a variety of domestic and international customers.
SINCE 2020
Seaspan’s Victoria Shipyards is the leading ship repair and modernization facility on Canada’s West Coast, specializing in complex repair and conversion projects, and offering full-service drydocking and wet berth refit services for all types of vessels.
The shipyard is an integral part of the Canadian Navy frigate and submarine maintenance programs, with its highly specialized and experienced team providing critical maintenance on Canada’s Halifax-class frigates for more 25 years and in-service support for its Victoria-class submarines for more than a decade.
Operating within the federally-owned Esquimalt Graving Dock, Victoria Shipyards is the largest solid bottom commercial drydock on the West Coast of the Americas and is one of the few North American shipyards executing work on international cruise vessels.
Seaspan Shipyards, of which Victoria Shipyards is part of, is helping to rebuild Canada’s marine industry, while developing talent and expertise for generations to come. Operations include Vancouver Shipyards, Vancouver Drydock and Victoria Shipyards, with a total dedicated workforce of approximately 2,800 people. As a strategic partner under Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy, we’re building and maintaining vessels for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy, and generating significant economic benefits for BC and the country.
