About Us

The Prodigy Group is an organization which encourages business leaders and emerging business professionals to create opportunities for business and personal growth.

Through our ties to the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce and other business and community organizations, we provide our members the opportunity to connect with likeminded individuals and to affect positive change in Victoria.

We are a professional networking group that provides young professionals with social networking events, professional mentorship relationships, and community involvement opportunities.

We have operated for over three years and have over 200 registered members.

Prodigy Group has created the following opportunities for members to become involved in our community.

  • Monthly Mingles
  • Community Connections
  • Member Mentorship
  • Special Events

History

In the summer of 2006, a group of Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce Members under 40 met to discuss how to create networking opportunities and develop leadership skills with other likeminded professionals in the Greater Victoria area. As a result the Junior Chamber was formed in January 2007 to provide a forum for these opportunities.  In the first year the Junior Chamber committee created three ongoing opportunities for members to network and build leadership skills that were well received by the Victoria business community.

With a year of operations under our belts and over 200 members in our databases, the group’s identity was coming to life. In the spring of 2008 the committee formally branded the membership as Prodigy Group, a name that more aptly represents the raw talent, potential and accomplishments that our members hold.

Committee

The Prodigy Group Committee consists of volunteers who meet on the 1st Thursday of each month to coordinate initiatives and fulfill the short-term and long-term objectives of the group.  The committee structure aims to represent a wide range of positions and work sectors.
