Greater Victoria Named Top Micro City of the Future

The Greater Victoria region is a hot bed of opportunity and a top North American “Micro City of the Future” according to the Financial Times. Ranked #1 in Canada and #3 in North America, Greater Victoria won top honors for our region’s economic infrastructure.
“Greater Victoria has an amazing story to tell, and international recognition like this shows why we are a natural place to do business”, said Sasha Angus, Economic Development Officer. “The region not only competes globally, but is a world-class destination for investment and opportunity.”
The 2009/2010 FDi magazine North American Cities of the Future report compared over 60 different factors including; economic potential, human resources, high tech industry, business costs, quality of life and community infrastructure. The Greater Victoria region scored highly on a number of factors, including economic infrastructure and foreign direct investment strategy.
The Greater Victoria Development Agency is an industry led agency representing the major industries and academic stakeholders of the region. The GVDA seeks to ensure that Greater Victoria remains a vibrant place to live, work and invest.
