Alex Campbell Wins Lifetime Achievement Award

The Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce has announced the finalists for the Annual Business Awards. Alex Campbell, founder of Thrifty Foods will be awarded the Governors’ Lifetime Achievement Award at the gala event on April 21, 2009. The Governors’ Award is selected by the chamber’s Board of Governors, while finalists in 13 other categories go forward to a judging panel. This year the chamber received 123 nominees, making the selection of 26 finalists a daunting task.
“Rewarding outstanding businesses and business people is the highlight of our year,” says John Juricic, Chair of the Chamber. “And in this time of economic uncertainty, there is no better feeling than to pause and give a round of applause to those business people in our community who keep our regional economy on track.”
