Get Counting those Flowers!!

February 28, 2011 – Victoria, BC – The 2011 Annual Flower Count launches on March 1st with the annual Mayors’ Flower Arranging Competition, where one lucky municipality will begin their flower counting with a trophy for best arrangement.

“The Bay Centre is thrilled to host the 2011 Flower Count Launch in downtown Victoria,” said Darlene Hollstein, General Manager of The Bay Centre. “This is a great community celebration event that showcases our Garden City and the many unique offerings Victoria has to offer to our visiting guests year-round.”

The public and media are invited to the launch event.

When:             Tuesday March 1, 2011

            Where:                        The Bay Centre (Main Level Centre Court)

                                    2 – 1150 Douglas Street
            Time:               10:00 AM – 11:30 AM

             

Everyone in Victoria can join in the Flower Count by:

·         Counting your buds and entering the number on the Flower Count website or phone (250) 360-BUDS (2837)

·       Visit the website for guidance on how to count your buds and tree blossoms.

·       Get your children in grades four and five to participate in the classroom competition.

The Greater Victoria Flower Count is a light-hearted event meant to promote Victoria as an attractive shoulder-season holiday destination. Citizens across the municipality are invited to count their blossoms and report their count.
