Victoria Chamber Policy Helps Set National Business Priorities

February 8, 2012 – Victoria, BC – The Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce welcomed the release of the “Top 10 Barriers to Competitiveness” report by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.  Active in provincial and national policy development, the Victoria Chamber’s work on municipal infrastructure was highlighted in the report as a top priority for the country.

Canada has become known as a world-class destination for opportunity, attracting new citizens looking to enjoy the quality of life and quality of opportunity we value and enjoy. While this has brought new vibrancy to the country, it presents new challenges for our municipal and economic infrastructure, challenges that must be met if we are to continue along a path of economic prosperity,” said Bruce Carter, CEO at the Greater Victoria Chamber.  “The Chamber has been a strong voice in calling for provincial and national strategies to address these challenges, and to find new ways to finance and secure these critical investments in our future.”

The Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce, with nearly 1,500 members, is the voice of business for the Greater Victoria and has received Accreditation with Distinction from the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
