Chamber Applauds City’s Leadership

June 13, 2013 – Victoria, BC – The Chamber is applauding the University of Victoria and City of Victoria’s efforts to shed light on joint services and amalgamation in a new research paper.

The report, A Prosperous Region Needs a Vibrant Core, highlights the danger in tax competition between municipalities and reinforces the fact that all residents better benefit from regional services.

“This report is a step in the right direction towards improving Greater Victoria’s regional success as a whole,” says Darlene Hollstein, Chair of The Chamber. “Our community depends on the continued delivery of high-level services, like policing. We all benefit from improved services and must continue to work together towards increasing joint service delivery and amalgamation.”

The Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce, with approximately 1,500 members, is the voice of business for Greater Victoria and has received Accreditation with Distinction from the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
