Municipal Infrastructure Funding Championed by the Chamber

Sasha Angus, Manager of Policy and Government Affairs at the Victoria Chamber sits down with Murray Langdon of CFAX to discuss the challenges that municipalities face in funding major infrastructure projects.

Sasha represented Greater Victoria on the national stage representing the region and Chambers across the country in framing and advocating for a new commitment to municipal infrastructure funding in Canada.

“We are honoured to represent not only the perspective of the country’s largest Chambers, but the interests of the Victoria region as well,” said Sasha Angus, Manager of Policy and Government Affairs at the Victoria Chamber. “As the authors of provincial and national Chamber policy on the subject, we look forward to a constructive discussion on this very important issue for our community.”

On November 30, 2011, the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister for Transportation, Infrastructure and Communities, launched an 18-month process to develop a new long-term infrastructure plan.  This process will build a plan to deliver long-term predictable investments to Canada’s public infrastructure, and will renew the Building Canada Plan when it expires in 2014.
