Jesse was born and raised in British Columbia. He grew up on Thetis Island, a small island community off the coast of central Vancouver Island. The eldest of four boys, he was raised by a committed and hard working couple. Today, they still live by the values they instilled in their sons. Jesse McClinton knows the importance of public service and standing up for what counts.
After graduating from high school Jesse completed a Bachelor of Arts in psychology at the University of Victoria which ultimately led to rewarding and related work at: Queen Alexandra Hospital for Children and Family, The Child Development Center, Bayside Middle School and Seven Oaks. Jesse understands issues faced by families.
In 2004 Jesse completed a Masters of Science at the University of Wales in the United Kingdom.Studying and completing a degree abroad was a tremendous experience. The most valuable lesson was the realization that B.C. not only where his roots were, but a place he could be very proud to call, "home."
Jesse settled in Vancouver where he excelled as a sales and marketing executive in the aviation industry. During this time, Jesse began his political career, becoming the president of the BC Liberal Vancouver-Fairview riding.
Jesse has always made time to give to his community. A broad variety of volunteer and not-for-profit work with Toastmasters, YMCA, the Royal Victoria Marathon and others have broadened Jesse's experience and drive to work with and for others. For someone under 30, Jesse has accomplished much. Voters can count on Jesse's drive, passion and commitment to help advance the needs of their community.
Accountability and accessibility are the two defining characteristics of Jesse McClinton the politician. Jesse doesn't believe in left or right partisan politics. Jesse believes in doing the right thing and moving forward. Jesse is listening and ready to act on behalf the constituents of Victoria-Swan Lake.

- Please identify what you believe to be the most important issue in your riding and your plan to address that issue.
Without question, most people in my riding are worried about their jobs, including union jobs in healthcare and education.
Continuing to stay the course by keeping income taxes low and encouraging innovation and investment, unemployment is lower now than at any time when the Province was under NDP Leadership. The BC Liberal's track record is proof that we are the most capable to manage and stimulate the economy going forward.
