Questions
- Please identify what you believe to be the most important issue in your riding and your plan to address that issue.
During this election campaign, one issue is being raised at virtually every turn - the issue of JOBS and concern about what the future holds.
The BC Liberal government has positioned the province well to withstand the current global economic downturn, but that doesn't mean we're immune. As a result, $14 billion will be invested over the next three years to create much needed infrastructure, creating tens of thousands of jobs in the process.
In Juan de Fuca, a number of infrastructure investments investments are needed, including: two new high schools; transportation improvements between the WestShore and Victoria with a focus on commuter rail; structural improvements to Highway 14 through and beyond Sooke; and; a pedestrian overpass at Spencer Road.
As the MLA for Juan de Fuca, I will work with community leaders to advance these proposals, make them a reality, and in doing so invest in our communities and families by providing much needed employment.
