Peninsula Co-op is a Vancouver Island based co-operative with it’s core business in grocery, petroleum and convenience stores. With 17 gas locations, a grocery store, home heating division and cardlocks located between Victoria to Duncan and in the Comox Valley, they employ over 300 part and full-time employees. Entirely locally owned and operated, they proudly share their profits with their member-owners, community and staff, which has been a part of their philanthropy since they opened their doors on the Saanich Peninsula in 1977. Last year, Peninsula Co-op contributed over $370,000 to various local charities, youth groups, organizations, student scholarships, and community projects. However, their contributions to the community go way beyond the donations they make; their staff also volunteer their time at various local community events and fundraisers. Last year alone, their staff contributed over 425 hours of volunteer time in our communities! In 2015, Peninsula Co-op was awarded the Employer of the Year award by the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce. In 2017, they were the runner-up for Business of the Year. Last Fall they also mailed out a rebate of over $4.6 million to more than 87,000 member-owners.
